Tamil Nadu Mandates Asset Disclosure for Employee Promotions by October 31

Chennai, October 8 (Daily Kiran) : The Tamil Nadu government has made it mandatory for state employees to disclose their assets as a condition for promotions. All employees must upload their financial details to the Integrated Finance and Human Resource Management System (IFHRMS) website by October 31, 2026.

An order issued by Chief Secretary Saikumar specifies that employees must report both movable and immovable assets, as well as savings and loans. The directive also states that if properties are registered in another person’s name, those must be included in the disclosure.

Only employees who provide the required information by the deadline will be considered for the promotion list. Those who fail to comply will be deemed to have violated government employee conduct rules.

Under this directive, employees are required to detail their financial holdings and liabilities. They must enter all relevant information regarding assets, savings, and debts into the government’s online system.

Importantly, this regulation is not limited to assets owned in the employee’s name. If an employee has purchased property under someone else’s name, they must provide that individual’s name and their relationship to them. This means that registering property in another person’s name does not absolve the employee of the responsibility to disclose that information.

The government has linked timely disclosure to eligibility for the promotion list. Therefore, employees seeking advancement must ensure their asset information is submitted by the specified deadline.

The order clarifies that failure to provide the necessary information will be viewed as a breach of conduct rules applicable to government employees. This regulation affects all Tamil Nadu government employees, requiring them to disclose their properties, savings, and loans to maintain a comprehensive record of their financial standings.

Both movable and immovable assets fall under this requirement. Employees are responsible for completing their disclosures on the IFHRMS website before the deadline. Timely submission is essential for inclusion in the promotion list, while non-compliance will be considered a violation of conduct rules.
