Tamil Nadu Begins Evaluation of Class 10 Board Exam Answer Sheets, Results Expected on May 20

Chennai, April 6: The evaluation of answer sheets for the Class 10 (SSLC) public examinations in Tamil Nadu commenced on Monday. Officials have indicated that the results are likely to be announced on May 20.

The Class 10 board exams, conducted under the Tamil Nadu state board curriculum, began on March 11, with a total of 896,550 candidates participating. This includes 882,806 regular school students and 13,744 private candidates, reflecting significant participation across the state.

According to official sources from the Directorate of Government Examinations (DGE), the evaluation process has started at various assessment centers established across different districts in the state.

A circular issued to district education officers has instructed them to allocate evaluation centers based on the number of candidates in each district, ensuring a smooth and efficient evaluation process.

Officials emphasized the need to complete the evaluation work without any delays. All qualified and eligible teachers have been directed to actively participate in this process.

To maintain accuracy and uniformity, the department has also issued subject-specific guidelines. According to these instructions, teachers who teach in Tamil medium will evaluate only Tamil language answer sheets, while English medium teachers will assess only English answer sheets. This measure aims to uphold subject expertise and ensure fair and equal evaluation across the state.

Officials reported that a systematic plan and strict adherence to timelines are being followed to prevent any pending work in the evaluation process. The department is continuously monitoring progress at all centers to ensure timely completion of the tasks.

Once the evaluation process is complete, the Directorate of Government Examinations is preparing to announce the results on May 20. Students and parents in Tamil Nadu are eagerly awaiting the results, as they play a crucial role in determining academic progress and future educational opportunities.

The education department has reiterated its commitment to maintaining transparency and efficiency in the evaluation and result announcement process, assuring stakeholders of timely and accurate results.
