Table Tennis: A Game of Speed, Patience, and Balance, Says Pushkar Singh Dhami

Dehradun, April 15: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami inaugurated the 87th Inter-State Junior and Youth National Table Tennis Championship-2025 in Dehradun on Wednesday. He encouraged participants to compete with full confidence, enthusiasm, and sportsmanship.

Chief Minister Dhami stated, “This is an opportunity to showcase talent and create a new identity. Table tennis is a sport that requires not just speed but also balance. Maintaining this balance is essential, supported by technique, technology, patience, skill, and strong mental fortitude.”

He congratulated all participants and expressed gratitude to the Table Tennis Federation for hosting the event in Uttarakhand, highlighting the state’s growing significance in sports and event hosting.

Dhami noted the success of previous national games, where players gained valuable experiences, and mentioned the international competitions taking place at the newly established ice rink. He also pointed out that Tehri Lake is hosting national and international events throughout the year. During the recent national games, Uttarakhand athletes achieved a remarkable feat by winning 103 medals, inspiring emerging players and establishing the state as a prominent sports hub.

Regarding the Nari Shakti Vandan Act, Dhami remarked that people are now trusting the Prime Minister’s policies. He observed that in areas where the Bharatiya Janata Party or NDA previously had no presence, support is now growing, attributing this to the “double engine” of governance. He criticized those who, facing declining support, resort to making accusations.

He emphasized that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is the first leader since independence to unify the country, connecting regions from the Northeast to the Himalayan states and the South. He highlighted the Tamil Kashi Sangamam event in Varanasi, which brought together a large number of people from Tamil Nadu for a series of cultural programs with the local community.
