Varanasi, February 21: Swami Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati has rejected allegations of child sexual abuse, labeling the FIR filed against him as false. A special court has ordered the registration of a case under the POCSO Act. Avimukteshwaranand expressed full confidence in the judicial process, asserting that the truth will emerge through investigation.

He stated, “It is appropriate for a case to be registered, as this will allow for further investigation and evidence collection, revealing the truth behind the false allegations against me.”

The Swami also questioned the credibility of the complainant, claiming that the individual making the accusations has a criminal background. He remarked, “The person who has accused me has a history of criminal records. His main activity involves filing false cases against people for monetary gain.”

Avimukteshwaranand further alleged that the complainant claimed to be a disciple of Jagadguru Swami Rambhadracharya. He accused certain parties of attempting to suppress voices advocating for cow protection.

Expressing faith in the judiciary, he said, “We are not like Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. We do not seek to withdraw cases against us. We will continue to speak without fear, confident that the truth will prevail.”

His disciple, Swami Mukundanand Giri, also dismissed the allegations, labeling them a conspiracy to tarnish the Shankaracharya tradition. He stated, “This is a legal process. We want the court to hear our side fully and consider the facts promptly.”

Notably, Special POCSO Judge Vinod Kumar Chaurasia directed the registration of the FIR based on a complaint filed by Ashutosh Brahmachari at the Jhunsi police station in Prayagraj. The court ordered further investigation after reviewing the preliminary inquiry report presented by Prayagraj Police Commissioner Jogendra Kumar.

This case pertains to allegations of sexual abuse of minors under the POCSO Act of 2012.
