Suspicious Death of Makeup Artist Sparks Police Investigation

New Delhi, May 28: A suspicious case of a young woman’s apparent suicide has emerged in the Nihal Vihar area of Delhi. According to police reports, the body has been sent for autopsy following the incident, and an investigation is underway.

Initial investigations revealed a suicide note, indicating a dispute with another woman. The police are currently registering a First Information Report (FIR) under charges of abetment to suicide and will proceed with the investigation based on this finding.

The deceased, identified as a makeup artist working at a local parlor, was found dead in her room. Her family alleges foul play, claiming that she was murdered. However, preliminary police assessments suggest it may be a suicide, and they are examining all angles of the case.

The victim’s father, Vinod Sinha, stated that his 25-year-old daughter, Shivani, left home for the parlor at 12:04 PM. He received news of her death at 1:30 PM. They rushed her to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

Vinod has accused a man named Vinay, who works as a driver at a cardboard factory, of harassing his daughter for some time. He mentioned that marks resembling shoe prints were found on her hands and legs.

A neighbor, Ganesh, reported that he saw Shivani leave for the parlor in an e-rickshaw around noon. Shortly after, her brother received a call informing him of her suicide. The family is demanding a fair investigation from the police and has raised concerns about potential discrepancies in the autopsy report.
