Vice President to Tour Assam, Meghalaya, Manipur, and Arunachal Pradesh from September 6-9

New Delhi, September 5 (Daily Kiran) : India’s Vice President, C.P. Radhakrishnan, is set to embark on a four-day tour of Assam, Meghalaya, Manipur, and Arunachal Pradesh from September 6 to 9, 2026. During his visit, he will participate in educational, cultural, and public events, as well as tour institutions of historical and national significance.

On September 6, the Vice President will arrive in Guwahati, Assam. He is expected to attend the golden jubilee celebration of Gitanagar College, formerly known as Kanya Mahavidyalaya. Later, he will take part in the convocation ceremony at the Srimanta Sankardev University of Health Sciences (SSUHS) in Guwahati.

The following day, September 7, Radhakrishnan will attend a foundation-laying ceremony at Gauhati University. He will engage in discussions with students, faculty members, and prominent citizens at the university’s convention center. Afterward, he will travel to Shillong, Meghalaya, to participate in a public welcome and cultural program at the Soso Tham Auditorium.

On September 8, the Vice President will visit Imphal in Manipur, where he plans to tour the INA Museum and War Memorial in Moirang, as well as the Sainik School in Imphal. He will then proceed to Itanagar, Arunachal Pradesh.

On the final day of his tour, September 9, Radhakrishnan will attend a special session of the Arunachal Pradesh Assembly and visit the assembly gallery and museum. He will also tour the Nyedar Namlo, Jawaharlal Nehru State Museum, and the Doni Polo Mission School for the hearing and visually impaired in Itanagar.

Earlier this week, Radhakrishnan was in Raipur, Chhattisgarh, where he attended the third convocation ceremony of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS). During the event, he urged graduating students to serve the nation with dedication and integrity. He emphasized that convocation is not just a celebration of achievements but also a moment of responsibility, reminding students that their degrees symbolize a commitment to the health and well-being of the community.
