New Delhi (Udaipur Kiran): The Supreme Court of India on Monday once again postponed the hearing in the Adjusted Gross Revenue (AGR) case involving Vodafone Idea Limited (VIL), the country’s third-largest telecom operator. The next hearing is now scheduled for October 27, 2025.

The telco has been battling a prolonged legal dispute over pending AGR dues and additional demands raised by the central government. Vodafone Idea has approached the Supreme Court multiple times over the years, challenging the Department of Telecommunications’ calculation of the dues. However, the apex court has consistently upheld the government’s stance, rejecting any request for recalculation or reassessment of the payable amount.
Following the court’s decision to defer the hearing, Vodafone Idea’s stock closed 3.87% lower at ₹8.69 on the stock exchanges.
The Supreme Court reiterated its view that there must be finality to the AGR matter, bringing clarity for both the telecom operator and the government.
Vodafone Idea’s total AGR liabilities run into several thousand crores, and the company has been under financial strain as it continues to seek relief through legal and strategic routes.
