Womens Reservation Bill: Political Maneuvering or Genuine Progress?

Ghazipur, April 6: Samajwadi Party leader Shaurya Singh criticized the Women’s Reservation Bill, calling it a political tactic. In a recent conversation, she expressed skepticism about the BJP’s commitment to women’s rights.

Singh stated that whenever the BJP discusses women’s reservation or safety, it feels like mere rhetoric. She pointed out that the party had made similar promises during past elections. “Every election season, this government plays with women’s sentiments. It’s a significant scam,” she remarked.

She acknowledged that if the Women’s Reservation Bill is implemented, it would benefit women. However, she questioned the government’s sincerity, citing a decline in women’s safety, referencing incidents in Manipur and Bihar. “If the bill comes forward, it’s good. But if it’s just a strategy to attract votes with empty promises, it’s shameful politics,” she added.

Singh accused the BJP of orchestrating a larger scheme with the introduction of this bill. “If the Women’s Reservation is enacted, all women, including those from other parties, will be pleased. But we all know that this reservation is neither coming quickly nor will the BJP be able to implement it,” she asserted.

In contrast, Shiv Sena MP Jyoti Waghmare praised the initiative, calling it an encouraging step for all women. She congratulated Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah for the Nari Shakti Vandan Act, which aims to provide adequate representation and respect for women in Parliament. “I wholeheartedly welcome this move,” she stated.

BJP MP Aparajita Sarangi also commended the central government’s efforts, expressing her joy as a female MP.
