Guwahati, April 6: Assam Minister Pijush Hazarika has accused Congress leader Pawan Khera of misusing personal information obtained from social media. He described this as part of a fraudulent AI campaign.
Hazarika stated on the social media platform X that the information related to the ‘Golden Card’ was taken from a Facebook post. In this post, an individual in Ajman (UAE) sought help to find his lost wallet, sharing a photo of his Golden Card along with mentions of essential documents like Emirates ID, vehicle papers, and ATM cards.
According to the minister, Khera attempted to create a misleading narrative on social media using this information. He labeled it a deliberate misinformation campaign.
Earlier, during a press conference in Delhi, Khera accused Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma’s wife, Riniki Bhuyan Sarma, of holding passports from the UAE, Antigua, and Egypt. He also claimed that details of certain foreign properties, including assets in Dubai, were not disclosed in official documents.
Khera further alleged that a company registered in Wyoming, USA, is linked to Sarma, involving transactions worth thousands of crores. He has called for an SIT investigation by the Ministry of Home Affairs into this matter.
In response, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma dismissed all allegations as baseless. He asserted that the documents being circulated against his family are fake and part of a malicious propaganda campaign.
Sarma pointed out that the documents contain several clear errors, indicating they are a result of poor digital manipulation. He and his wife have also announced plans to take legal action regarding this issue, stating they will pursue action against Khera through social media channels.
