Sunny Deol Promotes Partition 1947 with Son Karan at Partition Museum

Mumbai, August 9: Actor Sunny Deol is gearing up for the release of his upcoming film, ‘Partition 1947.’ The movie is set against the backdrop of the 1947 partition, highlighting the struggles faced by ordinary people during that tumultuous time. Punjab plays a significant role in the film, as it was one of the most affected regions during the partition.

To promote the film, Sunny Deol visited the Partition Museum in Amritsar with his son, Karan Deol. He shared photos from their visit on his Instagram story, where they explored images from the partition era. The museum showcases the events and the impact on people’s lives through various photographs and documents.

In addition to the museum visit, Sunny Deol plans a special road trip across Punjab for promotion. The journey will start in Chandigarh, followed by stops in Mohali and Jalandhar, with Amritsar being the final destination. Sunny, who enjoys driving, sees this road trip as both a promotional effort and a personal experience. He aims to connect with audiences in different cities to share the film.

The film’s team will visit three cities in Punjab in one day, emphasizing the importance of reaching local audiences given the region’s deep connection to the history of partition.

‘Partition 1947’ features a talented cast, including Shabana Azmi, Preity Zinta, Ali Fazal, and Abhimanyu Singh, and is directed by Rajkumar Santoshi. The story revolves around a family whose lives are irrevocably changed by the violence, fear, and forced migration during the partition. It portrays the struggles of those who were compelled to leave their homes and old lives behind.

The film also aims to highlight the humanity that persisted amidst fear and violence during that period.

Notably, the film has the involvement of the renowned trio Aamir Khan, A.R. Rahman, and Javed Akhtar, who previously collaborated on the iconic film ‘Lagaan.’ The production is led by Aamir Khan and Aparna Purohit.

‘Partition 1947’ is set to release in theaters worldwide on August 14, 2026.
