Mumbai, May 30: Actor Subodh Bhave is currently in the spotlight for his film “Shri Baba Neeb Karori Maharaj.” He believes that today’s youth have access to better resources compared to previous generations and are making excellent use of them.
In a recent conversation, Bhave noted that young artists today have significantly more opportunities and resources than before. He stated, “If we had social media in our time, we would have used it similarly. Young artists are sincerely trying to discover and refine themselves in their own unique ways.”
He emphasized that social media should not be seen as a decline in any art form, as it has become an essential part of everyone’s life today.
“I often observe that young artists do not just spend time on social media; they participate in workshops to learn the nuances of acting, travel to remote locations, and explore new ways to improve themselves,” he added.
Bhave is known for striking a balance between commercial and artistic cinema in the film industry. He advised young artists, “Every artist has their own journey, and their perspective on art is unique. For me, the distinction between commercial and artistic cinema has never mattered. I choose stories and characters that excite me as an actor.”
When asked about the social responsibility of actors who portray spiritual characters, Bhave replied, “I played the role of Maharaj Ji on screen with full devotion, love, and sincerity, but in real life, I am not Maharaj Ji. I am an actor and will continue to play various roles, including villains or negative characters.”
He illustrated his point with an example of an international athlete who replaced a soft drink bottle with water during a press conference. “Within days, the company’s shares fell because this action sent a message to society. Similarly, public figures should be mindful of their influence,” he concluded.
