Squadron Leader Prashant Singh Tomar Remembered for His Dedication to Country

Dehradun, June 14: The tragic loss of Squadron Leader Prashant Singh Tomar, who died in a cargo plane accident in Jorhat, Assam, has plunged his family and community into deep mourning. His cousin, Ritu, shared heartfelt memories of him in an interview with a news agency.

Ritu described Prashant as exceptionally talented, disciplined, and wholly dedicated to his goals from a young age. She said, “Prashant was a bright and unique child. He was the kind of son every parent would be proud of. He chose his own path and fulfilled his dream of becoming a pilot in the Indian Air Force. We are all proud of him.”

She revealed that Prashant had always aspired to serve in the military, placing his duty to the nation above his personal happiness. “I used to talk to him often. He was someone who prioritized the country over his own and his family’s joys,” she added.

Ritu expressed that this accident is an irreplaceable loss for the entire family. Notably, Prashant’s family has a long history of serving the nation. Ritu mentioned that her uncle had served in the Indian Army, one of Prashant’s cousins is in the CRPF, her husband is in the military, and her brother-in-law is also part of the Indian Army. “Our entire family is dedicated to serving the country,” she stated.

She expressed her sorrow over the incident and urged the government to conduct a thorough investigation. Ritu emphasized that the complete truth of this accident should be revealed to prevent future incidents that could endanger the lives of soldiers and officials dedicated to national service.

She appealed to the Prime Minister and the Defence Minister for an impartial inquiry into the accident, hoping that lessons learned would help avert such tragic events in the future.
