Sonia Gandhis Health Improves; Discharged from Sir Ganga Ram Hospital

New Delhi, March 31: Former Congress President Sonia Gandhi’s health has significantly improved. She was discharged from Sir Ganga Ram Hospital on Tuesday after a team of senior doctors approved her release.

On the night of March 24, 2026, Sonia Gandhi was admitted to the hospital due to a fever. She received treatment under the supervision of senior doctors at the facility.

According to Dr. Ajay Swaroop, the hospital’s senior physician and chairman, Sonia Gandhi was treated with antibiotics due to an infection. Her care was managed by Dr. D.S. Rana, Dr. S. Nandi, and Dr. Arup Basu.

During her treatment, Sonia Gandhi responded well and showed continuous improvement in her health. The medical team regularly assessed her condition, ensuring that her treatment was effective. On Tuesday, the doctors confirmed that she no longer needed to stay in the hospital and that normal home care and follow-up would suffice.

Following the approval from her treating physicians, Sonia Gandhi was discharged on Tuesday morning. The hospital administration has also confirmed that her health is now stable and normal. However, she will continue to have regular follow-ups and health checks to monitor her condition and detect any issues promptly.

It is noteworthy that due to Sonia Gandhi’s sudden health decline, her son Rahul Gandhi canceled his planned visit to Kerala. He addressed a rally virtually, explaining that he could not attend in person because of his mother’s illness.
