Mumbai, April 2: Iran has accused the United States and Israel of targeting its pharmaceutical hub. Dr. Mohammad Fathali, Iran’s ambassador in India, shared a photo highlighting that thousands of critically ill patients are on the brink of human catastrophe.
In a post on the social media platform X, Ambassador Fathali stated, “Targeting Iran’s pharmaceutical hub has pushed thousands of seriously ill patients to the edge of human disaster. Human rights experts consider this a clear and blatant example of ‘war crimes’—modern barbarism.”
The U.S. embassy in Iraq issued a statement indicating that Iranian-linked militia groups may be planning attacks in central Baghdad within the next 24-48 hours. Potential targets include American citizens, businesses, universities, diplomatic facilities, energy infrastructure, hotels, airports, and other locations associated with the U.S., as well as Iraqi institutions and civilian targets.
The embassy warned that following reports of an American journalist’s abduction in Baghdad two days ago, militias are now targeting Americans for kidnapping. The embassy urged, “American citizens should leave Iraq immediately.”
The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) criticized former President Trump’s threats to send Iran “back to the Stone Age.” They described these remarks as anti-Muslim, racist, and inhumane. CAIR stated on X, “Targeting civilian infrastructure is a war crime.”
They also called on lawmakers to take action to prevent war, stating, “The Trump administration allowed Israel to drag our country into an illegal war against the will of the American people. When Congress returns next week, CAIR will urge leaders to pass a war powers resolution, halt funding for escalation, and immediately investigate Secretary of War Pete Hegseth for war crimes.”
