Bengaluru, August 27: In Bengaluru, Karnataka, police have registered three FIRs following a clash during the Eid Milad procession. Six individuals have been arrested in connection with the incident. The police department has made necessary arrangements to maintain law and order and has urged the public to uphold peace and harmony.
The Deputy Commissioner of Police for the South Division stated that tensions arose between two groups during the procession in the Basavanagudi police station area on Wednesday. Officers intervened promptly to control the situation, and an injured individual was taken to the hospital.
A total of three cases have been registered at the Basavanagudi police station, including two complaints and one counter-complaint. The six arrested individuals have been presented in court.
Bengaluru police are currently examining evidence, CCTV footage, and statements from relevant parties as part of their investigation. Strict action will be taken against those responsible for violating the law.
The police department has reiterated the importance of maintaining law and order and has appealed to the public to avoid any incendiary activities.
In their statement, the police requested that the public refrain from paying attention to rumors, trust only official information, and report any suspicious activities immediately.
Earlier, during the Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi procession in Ankola, Karwar district, a Palestinian flag was briefly waved, prompting police intervention to seize the flag. This incident occurred when a young participant suddenly displayed the flag. Police quickly approached the individual to inquire about the flag.
In a separate incident in Chikkamagaluru, a banner reading “I Love Mohammad” was displayed during the Eid Milad celebrations in Tippunagar, near a large cutout of Tipu Sultan, which raised objections from some local residents.
