Mumbai, September 7 (Daily Kiran) : Veteran actor and filmmaker Sachin Pilgaonkar has been a prominent figure in Bollywood for over six decades. Recently, he faced trolling on social media due to his interviews. In response, his daughter, Shreya Pilgaonkar, defended him, stating that those who criticize him online often seek to take photos with him in person.
In a candid conversation, Shreya expressed, “People may not realize how much my father has experienced and learned over his long career. With more than 60 years in the film industry, he has witnessed many changes and eras. When asked about his life or career, he shares his insights, and there’s nothing wrong with that.”
She added, “If someone is invited to talk who has spent a significant part of their life in the film industry, naturally, they will discuss their experiences. My father has consistently shared his stories in interviews about his career and life in the industry. I believe people should view his comments from this perspective rather than trying to create controversy.”
Shreya pointed out a peculiar truth about the entertainment world: “It’s often seen that those who troll an artist online are the same people who rush to take selfies when they meet them in person. This is a strange reality of showbiz. Online opinions can differ vastly from how people behave face-to-face.”
Understanding this disparity, Shreya remarked, “My family and I recognize this difference well. In real life, we mostly receive love from people. Therefore, the negativity on social media doesn’t feel as genuine to us. What truly matters is the behavior we encounter when meeting people in person.”
She also noted that some individuals make negative comments merely to attract attention. “For some, it’s hard to see others succeed or be happy. When someone is struggling in life, they might view others’ joy through a negative lens. Instead of getting entangled in such matters, people should focus on love and positive things.”
Shreya is set to appear in the upcoming film “Havaan,” directed by Priyadarshan, alongside Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan, where Kumar will portray the antagonist. The film also features Boman Irani and Saiyami Kher in pivotal roles.
