Sharad Pawars Potential Alliance with NDA Sparks Political Debate

Mumbai, July 15: Speculation is rife regarding Sharad Pawar, the president of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), potentially joining the National Democratic Alliance (NDA). This has intensified political discussions in Maharashtra, with various party leaders weighing in. However, there has been no official announcement from Pawar or his party on this matter.

Spiritual leader Acharya Pramod Krishnam, speaking from Moradabad, expressed his respect for Sharad Pawar. He stated, “Pawar is a senior and experienced leader of the country. At this stage of his life, he should make decisions that are in the national interest.”

Krishnam further opined that standing alongside Prime Minister Narendra Modi would be a wise decision for Pawar.

NCP leader Anil Bhaiyadas Patil responded to the speculation about a possible unification of the two factions within the NCP and their potential inclusion in the NDA. He remarked, “Such discussions often arise in political corridors. However, if there is any unification between the factions, the final decision will not be made by party workers but by the Pawar family.”

Patil emphasized the deep respect that Maharashtra’s workers have for the Pawar family, asserting that any decision made by Supriya Pawar would be accepted wholeheartedly by the party members.

Shiv Sena spokesperson Sanjay Nirupam criticized the opposition while referencing the Maharashtra government’s ‘Chief Minister Ladki Bahin Yojana.’ He noted, “This initiative, launched under former Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, aims to provide financial assistance of ₹1,500 per month to economically weaker women. Despite being implemented in record time, it faced opposition from Congress, Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray), and Sharad Pawar’s faction. This scheme has proven to be a financial lifeline for millions of women in the state.”
