Mumbai, July 15: Congress leader Hussain Dalwai has raised concerns regarding international issues, questioning the central government’s policies and the current political landscape. He expressed his views on U.S. President Donald Trump’s policies, the Israel-Iran conflict, the SIT report related to the Ram Temple, Maharashtra’s politics, and the case involving comedian Samay Raina.
In an interview with a news agency, Dalwai stated that Donald Trump is impacting not just Iran but the entire world. Indian leaders must recognize that Trump’s policies could be most detrimental to countries like India. He emphasized that nations around the world should unite to send a clear message to Trump that such policies are unacceptable.
Commenting on Israel’s actions, Dalwai remarked that the government should openly address the deaths of innocent people, especially children. Silence on incidents that violate humanitarian values is not appropriate.
In response to questions about the SIT report concerning the Ram Temple, Dalwai mentioned he had heard the statement from Jagadguru Shankaracharya. According to him, Shankaracharya believes that no concrete results are likely from this investigation, as the officials conducting it are also under government authority.
Dalwai also noted that Shankaracharya views this issue as not just about the Ram Temple but also tied to the politics of the BJP and RSS. However, he acknowledged that many saints do not agree with Shankaracharya’s perspective on this matter.
Discussing Maharashtra’s politics, Dalwai pointed out that some leaders are trying to showcase their political achievements in Delhi to secure ministerial positions.
Regarding the meeting between NCP leaders and Devendra Fadnavis, he expressed skepticism about any significant political changes arising from it. He stated that ideologically committed leaders would not join the BJP, while some individuals motivated by political gain or personal interests might take such a step.
On the fine imposed on comedian Samay Raina, Dalwai asserted that inappropriate or offensive comments against women should not occur, but imposing such a severe penalty seems excessive. He expressed concern that if the government excessively monitors cultural programs and expression, it could negatively impact the democratic environment.
