Mumbai, July 15: Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan was discharged from a Mumbai hospital on Wednesday following surgery on his right shoulder.
According to the Deputy Chief Minister’s office, he will now travel to Hyderabad to rest at home. Doctors have advised that physiotherapy will commence three weeks post-surgery.
Pawan Kalyan, who is also the leader of the Jana Sena Party, underwent the procedure on July 11 at Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital in Mumbai.
Medical professionals have recommended a three-week recovery period before starting physiotherapy. They estimate that it will take approximately four months for the operated shoulder to fully heal.
On July 12, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu visited Pawan Kalyan in the hospital, wishing him a swift recovery. Naidu stated, “Doctors have advised him to rest for three weeks, followed by physiotherapy. There is also an issue with his other shoulder, for which physiotherapy is currently recommended. A reassessment will occur in six months to determine further treatment.”
A health bulletin released by the hospital indicated that Pawan Kalyan suffered a rotator cuff injury in his right shoulder, which included severe damage to the supraspinatus and infraspinatus tendons, along with a fracture in the greater tuberosity bone.
The successful arthroscopic surgery was performed by Dr. Dinshaw Pardiwala, the hospital’s Director of Arthroscopy and Shoulder Services. The surgery was successful, and Pawan Kalyan’s recovery is progressing well.
The bulletin stated, “After a period of rest and initial recovery, Pawan Kalyan will undergo a structured shoulder rehabilitation program. It is expected that the functionality of his shoulder will return to normal within the next four months.”
Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis also visited Pawan Kalyan on July 13, checking on his health and wishing him a speedy recovery.
