Mumbai, September 30 (Daily Kiran) : Shiv Sena leader Shaina NC has responded sharply to Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s recent remarks regarding the Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) and electoral outcomes. During a discussion, she pointed out a double standard in the Congress party’s narrative. When the Congress wins elections in states, it is celebrated as the people’s mandate. However, when they lose, the blame is often placed on EVMs, she noted.
Shaina’s comments came in light of Rahul Gandhi’s assertion about the voter list from the Bela Estate along the Yamuna, where he claimed that out of 728 residents, only one name remained after a scrutiny process.
In her response, Shaina challenged Gandhi to verify his facts. She referenced a 2023 court ruling that deemed the Bela Estate a case of illegal occupation on the Yamuna. According to her, when officials visited the site, they found no houses or voters present, despite multiple checks. She questioned the credibility of Gandhi’s claims, especially when he demands the removal of the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) while supporting illegal occupants.
Shaina further criticized the Congress party’s attitude, stating that victories in Telangana and Karnataka are hailed as public endorsements, but losses in Delhi, Maharashtra, Bihar, and West Bengal are attributed to tampering with EVMs. She urged Rahul Gandhi to change this mentality.
On the topic of the INDIA bloc’s meeting, Shaina took a jab at Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray, implying that those who work from home have grown accustomed to it. She expressed skepticism about the effectiveness of virtual commitments, suggesting that real engagement must occur on the ground, rather than through social media or video calls.
Additionally, she labeled Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge as a puppet of Rahul Gandhi and commented on a recent shocking incident in Thane, Maharashtra, emphasizing that it does not reflect the state’s culture or civilization. She expressed confidence in the Mumbai police’s ongoing investigation, which includes forensic analysis and CCTV footage review, assuring the public of a fair resolution.
