Internal Strife Erupts in Rajasthan Congress Following Urban Body Election Losses

Jaipur, September 30 (Daily Kiran) : Following the results of the urban body elections, tensions within the Rajasthan Congress have come to the forefront. Senior leader and former minister Vishvendra Singh has publicly criticized the party’s local organization and state leadership, particularly in the Bharatpur-Dig region.

In a pointed social media post titled “Who is responsible for the ruin of Bharatpur-Dig Congress?”, Singh lambasted the local party organization. He specifically targeted the district presidents of Bharatpur and Dig, as well as Rajasthan Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) President Govind Singh Dotasra, attributing the party’s poor performance in the elections to alleged negligence within the organization.

Singh accused the district leaders of sidelining loyal party workers and favoring their preferred candidates for tickets in the elections. He asserted that the election results clearly reflected public discontent regarding these decisions.

He further criticized Dotasra, claiming that the PCC president had shielded the district leaders from accountability. Singh’s statements have reignited discussions within the Rajasthan Congress about ticket distribution, internal operations, and organizational accountability.

Questioning the party’s performance in Bharatpur-Dig and surrounding areas, Singh emphasized the political significance of these regions for Congress. He alleged that the local leadership’s inefficacy has weakened the party’s standing in these areas.

In a direct attack on state leadership, Singh also criticized Dotasra’s response to the electoral defeat. He raised concerns about the lack of action against district-level leaders who have been criticized. Singh remarked that as long as these leaders remain in their positions, it will be challenging for Congress to rebuild its organization in the region. He urged the state leadership to take necessary corrective measures following the election results.

Singh’s remarks have once again brought to light issues of factionalism and accountability within the Rajasthan Congress.
