Barmer, September 30 (Daily Kiran) : Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma launched a scathing attack on the Congress party during a rally in Bachhadau, Barmer, on September 30. He accused the previous Congress government of leaving the state in a “dilapidated condition” and labeled Congress leaders as self-serving.
Arriving around 2 PM, Sharma was welcomed at the helipad by state minister K.K. Vishnoi and Chowhatan MLA Adooram Meghwal. The event also saw the presence of local legislators, including Priyanka Chaudhary from Barmer, Hamir Singh from Siwana, Chhotu Singh from Jaisalmer, Mahant Pratap Puri from Pokaran, and C.R. Chaudhary, chairman of the Farmers’ Commission.
District Collector Chinmayi Gopal and Superintendent of Police Choonaram also welcomed the Chief Minister, who was greeted with traditional folk dance performances.
In his address, Sharma emphasized that the Congress had reduced the state’s condition to that of a “dilapidated house.” He asserted, “People associated with Congress are not loyal to anyone; they are selfish.”
Sharma began his speech by paying homage to the land of heroes. He highlighted the current Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government’s commitment to ensuring all villages have proper roads. He noted that Rajasthan, once reliant on other states for electricity, is now progressing towards becoming a power-supplying state.
Previously, Sharma had made similar claims at another event, asserting that Rajasthan is on the path to becoming a significant electricity provider.
Criticizing the past Congress administration, he pointed out that youth faced numerous challenges during their tenure, including repeated incidents of exam paper leaks. He asked the crowd if such leaks were occurring under the current BJP government, to which they responded with a resounding “no.”
The Chief Minister stated that the BJP government is dedicated to the welfare of all societal segments, with a focus on development in rural areas. He pledged that every gram panchayat in the state would have a sports field.
Additionally, Sharma announced the establishment of Atal Knowledge Centers in villages, aimed at providing e-learning facilities to the youth under the state government’s rural development scheme. He reiterated the government’s commitment to strengthening infrastructure, including roads and education, in rural regions.
During the event in Bachhadau, Sharma inaugurated and laid the foundation for 1,013 development projects costing ₹2,824 crores. He also has plans to announce additional development initiatives for eight districts in the Jodhpur division.
This visit comes ahead of the upcoming Panchayati Raj elections in Rajasthan. Before the rally, Sharma met with BJP officials and workers from Barmer, Balotra, and Jaisalmer to discuss preparations for the local elections.
Following the Bachhadau event, the Chief Minister was scheduled to visit Sumerpur in Pali.
