Telangana, September 30 (Daily Kiran) : A school in Telangana has sparked significant controversy after an incident where students were required to remove traditional ornaments such as bangles, bindis, and rakhi threads. The Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) has voiced strong objections, demanding immediate action against those responsible.
VHP national spokesperson Vinod Bansal condemned the actions taken by a Muslim teacher, which included forcibly removing these items from a girl’s hands and her forehead. Following this, the students were reportedly expelled from the school. Bansal characterized the incident as a disrespect to Indian culture and religious sentiments, emphasizing the seriousness of instilling negative feelings about religion and culture in children.
He called the situation troubling and deplorable, urging the government to act swiftly. Bansal asserted that educational institutions should respect the religious beliefs and sentiments of children, and he encouraged schools to refrain from actions that could foster hatred towards any religion or culture. He noted that similar incidents have been reported from various locations in the past and insisted that the government must take action to prevent such occurrences, asserting that the Hindu community would not tolerate them.
Additionally, Bansal responded to recent comments made by Asaduddin Owaisi regarding the collection of demographic data related to religious communities. He accused Owaisi of failing to uphold the spirit of the Constitution while discussing constitutional and legal matters. Bansal mentioned that the government is in the process of gathering data related to various sectors, including education, housing, and property.
Questioning Owaisi’s stance, which suggested that the survey might harm Muslims, Bansal argued that it is premature to predict negative outcomes before the data collection process is complete. He urged Owaisi to refrain from creating a negative atmosphere in the country through his statements and to wait for factual results from the survey.
