Serious Questions Arise on Kejriwals Leadership as Punjab BJP Responds to AAP MPs Resignations

Chandigarh, April 25: The resignation of two-thirds of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Rajya Sabha MPs has raised serious concerns regarding Arvind Kejriwal’s leadership, according to Ashwani Sharma, the Punjab BJP’s acting president. He stated that this development reflects Kejriwal’s increasingly autocratic style of governance.

Sharma emphasized that such mass resignations reveal deep rifts within the party and indicate growing discontent with Kejriwal’s management approach. He criticized Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, labeling him a ‘puppet’ who diverts attention from pressing issues by making irrelevant statements instead of addressing the concerns raised.

He also pointed out the disrespect shown to Swati Maliwal and the controversy surrounding Raghav Chadha as serious matters that the public will not easily forget. In a statement targeting the AAP government, Sharma claimed that Punjab has been deceived under Kejriwal and AAP’s leadership for the past four and a half years.

Sharma further noted that the people of Punjab had voted with the hope that the state would be governed by Punjabis, but the opposite has occurred.

Meanwhile, state party president Sunil Jakhar welcomed the Rajya Sabha members who joined the BJP, stating that this would not only strengthen the party in Punjab but also mark the beginning of AAP’s decline. He described AAP as one of the shortest-lived political parties in the country.

In a message shared on social media, Jakhar warmly welcomed all MPs who left AAP to join the BJP, referring to AAP as a sinking ship. He claimed that the people of Punjab are disillusioned with the party due to its misgovernance, corruption, and chaos. Furthermore, he noted that even the good members within the party are now compelled to leave after AAP abandoned public interest.
