Sambhal, September 6 (Daily Kiran) : The district administration in Sambhal, Uttar Pradesh, has declared a one-day closure for all schools and madrasas from classes 1 to 12 due to continuous heavy rainfall and adverse weather conditions. This decision, made under the directive of District Magistrate Ankit Khandelwal, aims to ensure the safety of students.
According to the issued order, the closure applies to all educational institutions, including government schools, recognized private schools, and those affiliated with various boards. School principals and madrasah administrators have been instructed to strictly adhere to this directive.
The administration noted that the district has experienced persistent rainfall over several hours, leading to waterlogging in various areas and disrupting transportation. To avoid any risks or difficulties for students commuting to and from school, the closure was deemed necessary.
The district administration emphasized that the safety of students is the top priority. This decision was made in light of potential issues that could arise from sending children to school during inclement weather. School management has been tasked with informing parents and students about the closure.
Parents are urged to monitor weather conditions closely and to keep children indoors unless absolutely necessary. They have also been advised to avoid areas prone to flooding.
Meanwhile, a red alert has been issued for Shahjahanpur, Hardoi, Lakhimpur Kheri, and Pilibhit districts for the next three hours, predicting thunderstorms and heavy to very heavy rainfall in certain areas. The information department has indicated that residents should remain vigilant and avoid leaving their homes unless essential, particularly those living in low-lying and flood-affected regions.
The district administration is closely monitoring the weather situation and is taking necessary measures to ensure public safety.
