Sarangpur Hanumanjis Divine Forms Receive Copyright and Trademark Protection

Botad, June 12: The renowned pilgrimage site of Sarangpur in Gujarat has secured legal protection for the various divine forms, images, and spiritual expressions of Hanumanji Maharaj. No individual or organization can commercially use the name, images, or spiritual heritage of Hanumanji without the trust’s permission.

Thanks to the efforts of the temple trust, the name, forms, images, and associated intellectual property of Hanumanji have been registered and safeguarded. For the first time in India, the Sarangpur Temple Trust has initiated a unique effort to protect a religious and spiritual heritage through copyright and trademark.

This historic decision to preserve Indian spiritual and cultural heritage under a modern legal framework has sparked joy among devotees. Swami Vivek Sagar of the Sarangpur Hanumanji Temple Trust stated that they have obtained copyright and trademark protection for the name and forms of Sarangpur Hanumanji, dedicating this achievement to the deity.

Sarangpur is famous for the historic Shri Kashtabhanjan Hanumanji Temple and the BAPS Swaminarayan Temple. The Hanumanji Temple in Sarangpur has been a center of faith and devotion for millions. It is unique within the Swaminarayan sect as it recognizes Hanuman as the main deity.

The Shri Hanuman Temple falls under the Vadtal Gaddi of the Swaminarayan sect. It is the only Swaminarayan temple where idols of Swaminarayan or Krishna are not installed as the main deities. This temple is dedicated to the Kasyabhajan Hanumanji and is one of the prominent temples of the Swaminarayan sect.

A recently installed 54-foot statue has further enhanced the temple’s identity, attracting devotees from around the world. According to the self-realized Swami of BAPS, the revered saint Gopalanand Swami established the idol of Kasyabhajan Dev Hanuman in Sarangpur. This temple is globally recognized for its spiritual significance.
