Dehradun, June 12: On the occasion of Prime Minister Narendra Modi completing 12 years in office, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami held a press conference at the BJP office in Dehradun. He stated that during PM Modi’s tenure, new milestones have been established in the field of welfare for the poor.
CM Dhami emphasized that under Modi’s visionary leadership, India has made unprecedented progress in areas such as public welfare, good governance, infrastructure, economic empowerment, women’s upliftment, youth development, farmer welfare, health, and education. Every policy and scheme during these years has focused on uplifting the most marginalized individuals in society. Initiatives like the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, Ujjwala Yojana, Ayushman Bharat, Jal Jeevan Mission, Swachh Bharat Mission, PM Kisan Samman Nidhi, Mudra Yojana, Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, and the Atmanirbhar Bharat campaign have positively transformed the lives of millions of citizens.
He noted that in the past 12 years, the country has set new records in development, good governance, infrastructure, women’s empowerment, youth upliftment, and welfare for the poor. In Uttarakhand, projects such as the All Weather Road Project, Rishikesh-Karnprayag Rail Project, Manshkund Temple Circuit Mission, and the master plans for Kedarnath and Badrinath have brought unprecedented development, giving the state a new identity. These initiatives have enhanced connectivity, religious tourism, pilgrimage, job creation, and invigorated the local economy.
Dhami mentioned that PM Modi has lifted 250 million people out of poverty during his tenure. He criticized the previous Congress government, stating that corruption had become an integral part of the system. The Modi government has implemented the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) process to eliminate corruption, ensuring that funds reach beneficiaries without any leakage. He described Congress’s politics as appeasement-focused and limited to vote banks. PM Modi has consistently worked to provide the nation with a reliable and stable government. Before 2014, India’s credibility on the global stage had diminished, and the condition of banks and administrative systems was poor. However, post-2014, the country has experienced transparent leadership under PM Modi.
On a somber note, CM Dhami expressed his condolences on the sudden passing of Jaspal Rana, a Padma Shri awardee and pride of Indian shooting. He highlighted Rana’s extraordinary contributions and achievements in shooting, which have brought honor to India on a global scale. His legacy will continue to inspire future generations.
Meanwhile, during a visit to Bageshwar, District In-Charge and Cabinet Minister Ram Singh Kaida remarked that in this age, Narendra Modi has emerged as a second deity. Following Modi’s footsteps, CM Pushkar Singh Dhami is continuously working to address people’s issues at the ward level.
