Mumbai, June 7: Sanjay Nirupam spoke to a news agency on Sunday, asserting that no individual is above the law, whether they are a teacher, professor, doctor, engineer, or lawyer. Following allegations against Roshan Anand, he was arrested. Now, with accusations against Khan Sir, he too must face arrest if found guilty. Anyone who commits a crime must face legal consequences.
Patna is home to renowned coaching institutes that provide free or low-cost preparation for competitive exams to underprivileged children. Currently, a serious dispute is unfolding between two coaching centers: one run by Faisal Khan (Khan Sir) and the other by Roshan Anand. A conflict erupted recently between the two institutes.
Khan Sir alleged that individuals associated with Roshan Anand’s Gyaan Bindu coaching center shot at him. This incident caused significant uproar, leading to Roshan Anand’s arrest. Subsequent police investigations revealed that the initial gunfire came from Khan Sir’s guards, not from Gyaan Bindu. Consequently, a case has now been filed against Khan Sir as well. If he does not comply with the legal process, his institute may face closure.
Nirupam emphasized that the role of educators is to guide children correctly, not to engage in any illicit activities.
Regarding West Bengal‘s political landscape, Nirupam noted that Mamata Banerjee built her party through hard work and led the government for nearly 15 years. However, her party faced defeat in the recent assembly elections, leading to internal strife within the Trinamool Congress. Several legislators have expressed dissatisfaction, indicating a potential fracture within the party.
Discussing local body elections and the elections for 17 seats in the Legislative Council in Maharashtra, he mentioned that six seats were won uncontested by candidates from the Mahayuti alliance. The opposition coalition, comprising Congress and the Maha Vikas Aghadi, withdrew some candidates, which adversely affected their chances.
Nirupam pointed out organizational weaknesses within the Congress party, noting a lack of confidence among candidates in various regions. He stated that the opposition coalition suffers from coordination issues, resulting in repeated electoral losses.
On the topic of madrasa surveys, Nirupam stressed the need for strict scrutiny and monitoring to prevent illegal activities or infiltration under the guise of madrasas. He asserted that the primary objective of madrasas should be education, and regular inspections are necessary to ensure transparency. He also mentioned that if the West Bengal government is taking steps in this direction, it would be in the interest of state and national security.
