Sandipa Dhar Celebrates Birthday at Vaishno Devi, Embracing Spiritual Lifestyle

Mumbai, March 5: Actress Sandipa Dhar is currently in the spotlight for her recently released film “Do Diwane Sahar Mein.” She believes that an actor can only perform well when the script and writing are strong.

In a recent exclusive interview, she stated, “The responsibility largely lies in the writing. If the characters are well-written and distinct, the actor merely needs to follow that blueprint. The real challenge in films is screen time. One has to portray the entire journey of a character, including struggles and resolutions, in just a few scenes. This requires good preparation and clarity in craft.”

Every year, Sandipa celebrates her birthday at Vaishno Devi in Jammu and Kashmir. She shared, “I celebrate my birthday at Maa Vaishno Devi every year. It’s an old tradition of mine.” The peace found in the mountains is something she feels is absent in Mumbai. She added, “Perhaps because my roots are connected to the mountains, I feel a deep connection with them.”

Sandipa mentioned that since her birthday falls at the beginning of the year, she visits Vaishno Devi to ensure a good start to the year. She explained, “My birthday is at the start of the year, so it feels like a spiritual lifestyle. Interestingly, whenever I return from Vaishno Devi, I usually receive good news. This time, my film is set to release in theaters. We shot it a while ago, and seeing it finally reach the audience and now stream on Netflix feels like a blessing. I truly believe it is Maa Rani’s grace that I am receiving so much praise for my role.”

The film focuses on validation and self-acceptance. In today’s social media era, the pressure for validation has become a significant issue. Sandipa remarked, “Instead of accepting ourselves, we constantly seek validation from others. We think that what we want to become is better than who we are. But we should understand that we are enough just as we are.”

Discussing her upcoming projects, Sandipa revealed that her Netflix show “Chumbak,” directed by Lakshman Utekar, is set to release soon.
