Sand Artist Sudarshan Patnaik Creates 25-Foot Sculpture on Puri Beach to Promote Tobacco-Free Society

Puri, May 31: Renowned sand artist Sudarshan Patnaik unveiled a significant sand sculpture on Puri Beach ahead of World No Tobacco Day. This artwork aims to raise awareness about the severe health risks associated with tobacco use.

The impressive 25-foot sculpture, shaped like a cigar, features a human skeleton inside, symbolizing how tobacco gradually deteriorates the human body. A large crowd gathered on the beach to admire the artwork and appreciate the artist’s message.

In an interview, Patnaik explained that, as in previous years, this sand art was created to educate the public on World No Tobacco Day. He emphasized that tobacco consumption is extremely harmful to health and leads to various serious diseases. The depiction of the skeleton within the cigar serves to highlight this danger.

The primary message of this sand art is, “Tobacco took my life. Do not use tobacco—save your life.” Patnaik encourages people to stay away from tobacco for a healthier and better life.

This sand art on Puri Beach is not just a piece of art but a powerful medium to convey a strong message to society. Through his creativity, Patnaik appeals to the public to say “no” to tobacco, take care of their health, and contribute to building a tobacco-free society.

It is noteworthy that World No Tobacco Day is observed globally on May 31 each year. The day aims to raise awareness about the harmful effects of tobacco and encourage people to stay away from this addiction.
