Prime Minister Modi Reviews Four Major Infrastructure Projects Worth ₹30,000 Crore

New Delhi, June 25: Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired the 52nd meeting of ‘Pragati’ at Seva Teerth on Wednesday. This multi-media platform, based on Information and Communication Technology (ICT), aims to seamlessly integrate the efforts of central and state governments to promote active governance and timely implementation.

During the meeting, the Prime Minister reviewed four significant infrastructure projects related to roads, electricity, industrial corridors, and metro rail. These projects, costing approximately ₹30,000 crore, span across four states. The review focused on timelines, coordination among various agencies, problem-solving, and ensuring timely completion, all crucial for economic development, regional connectivity, industrial progress, and public welfare.

The Prime Minister emphasized that delays in infrastructure projects not only increase costs but also deprive people and industries of timely benefits. He instructed the relevant ministries and state governments to resolve pending issues in mission mode and ensure continuous monitoring at the highest level.

He highlighted the importance of utilizing the PM Gati Shakti National Master Plan for effective planning and timely execution of infrastructure projects. The Prime Minister stressed the need for regular and timely updates on project details, utilities, infrastructure layers, approvals, and other regional information on the portal. He stated that the platform should reflect the latest ground-level status to identify bottlenecks early, improve coordination among agencies, and facilitate decision-making based on reliable, real-time data.

Additionally, the Prime Minister reviewed the TB Free India campaign and underscored the need for utilizing the latest digital technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI). He suggested forming a team of NCC cadets and ‘My India’ volunteers for awareness, patient follow-ups, and community engagement.

The Prime Minister also assessed complaints related to cybercrime and digital fraud. He expressed concern over the increasing misuse of digital platforms to deceive citizens and stressed that such cases should be handled in a coordinated, sensitive, and timely manner by all relevant agencies. He emphasized that citizens should not have to navigate from one department or agency to another for resolution. He called for clear accountability, prompt responses, better coordination among law enforcement agencies, banks, and digital platforms, and strengthening public awareness campaigns.

He stated that timely action is crucial to prevent financial losses in cyber fraud cases and to restore public trust. The Prime Minister urged all stakeholders to collaborate in strengthening prevention, reporting, investigation, and grievance redressal mechanisms. He also mentioned that states should work towards implementing the e-Zero FIR system to ensure quick registration and response to cyber fraud cases.
