Russia Accuses US and Israel of Hindering Iran-Arab Relations

Moscow, March 31: Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has accused the United States and Israel of lacking a genuine desire for peace. During a meeting of the Russian International Affairs Council, he claimed that both nations do not want normalization of relations between Iran and its neighboring countries.

He stated, “The US and Israel are obstructing the normalization of relations between Iran and Arab nations, undermining the collective Gulf security proposal initiated by Russia in 2010.”

Lavrov emphasized that the ongoing “regime change” efforts in the region are primarily driven by a desperate attempt to seize oil and gas resources. He warned that if the current situation persists, it could engulf the entire region in crisis and escalate into a larger conflict.

The Russian Foreign Minister also highlighted the blatant disregard for international laws. He remarked, “Trump claims he has no regard for international laws. Cities are being barbarically destroyed, and hospitals are under attack. In such circumstances, no one besides us and our allies seems to care about international laws.”

Earlier, the Russian Foreign Ministry reported that Lavrov expressed concerns over rising tensions during a video conference with his Gulf counterparts, emphasizing the necessity of a ceasefire. He called for an immediate halt to the conflict and reaffirmed Russia’s commitment to maintaining close coordination with Gulf nations to ensure a swift ceasefire.

Lavrov also discussed the concept of a New World Order, stating that the world is undergoing a restructuring phase, which he hopes will lead to the establishment of a new multipolar world. However, he noted that “the restructuring currently appears fragmented and chaotic.”
