Mumbai, April 6: The Xiaomi 17 Max is making headlines again as new leaks unveil its launch timeline and key specifications. According to tipster Kartikey Singh, the device is expected to debut in China in May. This model will complete the Xiaomi 17 series, which already includes the Xiaomi 17, 17 Pro, 17 Pro Max, and 17 Ultra.
Recent details indicate that the Xiaomi 17 Max will not merely be a larger version of the standard model. It is anticipated to feature a 6.9-inch OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The device will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset. Additionally, it is rumored to come with a substantial 8,000mAh battery, supporting 100W wired charging and 50W wireless charging.
The camera system is expected to be a standout feature. Reports suggest a 200MP primary sensor with a 1/1.4-inch size, accompanied by a 50MP ultra-wide lens and a 50MP periscope telephoto camera with a 1/1.95-inch sensor. This configuration positions it close to the Pro Max variant in terms of camera capabilities, although it may lack features like a secondary rear display.
Earlier reports had already highlighted several of these specifications while providing additional insights. The device is said to sport a flat 6.9-inch 1.5K OLED panel with an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor. It is expected to operate on HyperOS 3, based on Android 16, and include a 50MP front-facing camera.
Other anticipated specifications include up to 16GB of LPDDR5x RAM and up to 1TB of UFS 4.1 storage. The phone may also incorporate an x-axis linear motor and dual symmetric 1115 speakers. While initial leaks hinted at an April launch, the latest information now suggests a May release in China. Availability in other regions remains unconfirmed.
