Honor Magic 9 Series to Feature ARRI Co-Developed Camera System, Set for October Launch

Mumbai, April 6: Honor’s upcoming flagship phone is reportedly venturing into a territory it is not widely recognized for: video capabilities.

According to a recent leak from tipster “Factory Manager is Guan,” the new Honor Magic 9 series will incorporate an ARRI co-branded imaging system.

For those unfamiliar, ARRI is a leading designer of professional motion picture cameras, lenses, lighting systems, and post-production equipment. Established in 1917 and based in Germany, ARRI’s technology is utilized in films, documentaries, and high-end productions worldwide.

This partnership is not unexpected. At the 2026 Mobile World Congress, Honor and ARRI officially announced their strategic collaboration aimed at integrating ARRI Image Science into next-generation consumer devices.

The tipster claims that the Magic 9 series will provide “exceptional video capabilities.” While it may not reach the level of Honor’s experimental “Robot Phone,” it could potentially challenge the common belief that Android phones lag in video recording quality.

Honor Magic 9 Series Expected to Launch in October

The tipster also noted that if a phone excels in video performance, still photography often improves as well. This suggests that the Magic 9 series may offer a comprehensive upgrade in imaging.

Honor CEO Li Jian previously indicated that this new imaging system could surpass the current camera performance of Apple devices.

In addition to its camera features, the Magic 9 series is anticipated to debut with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6, manufactured on a 2nm process by TSMC.

Lastly, the tipster predicts that the Honor Magic 9 series will launch in October, shortly after the expected announcement of the iPhone 18 series.

For now, this information remains a leak. However, if any part of it proves accurate, the Magic 9 series could redefine how Android phones are evaluated, especially regarding video capabilities.
