Mumbai, April 6: Red Magic is preparing to refresh its gaming tablet series. The highly anticipated Red Magic Gaming Tablet 5 Pro has been teased with an official launch timeframe.
Jiang Chao, a senior executive at Red Magic, shared on Weibo that the tablet is expected to debut in April or May 2026. While no specific date was provided, he assured that the device will be worth the wait. This new model will succeed last year’s Gaming Tablet 3 Pro, which marked Red Magic’s entry into compact, performance-driven tablets.
A global rollout has already been confirmed. The previous model launched in China first and later became available internationally as the Red Magic Astra, suggesting a similar strategy may be employed again. If the timeline holds, an international version could be released one to two months after the initial launch.
Regarding upgrades, Red Magic is hinting at several significant enhancements. The tablet is anticipated to feature an OLED display with an exceptionally high refresh rate. Early discussions suggest it may exceed 165Hz, potentially reaching up to 200Hz, although this remains unverified.
In terms of performance, the Red Magic Gaming Tablet 5 Pro is expected to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset. Cooling technology is also a major focus, with reports indicating that the company is developing a more sophisticated cooling system utilizing PC-grade materials to maintain stable performance during extended gaming sessions.
Pricing details are still under wraps, but given the rising costs of components, a slight price increase would not be unexpected.
