Tel Aviv, April 6: Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has announced that he spoke with U.S. President Donald Trump over the phone, congratulating him on the successful operation to rescue an American pilot from Iran.
Reports indicate that Iran shot down two U.S. fighter jets, the A-10 and F-15E, resulting in one pilot going missing in Iran. After several hours of operation, the pilot was successfully rescued. President Trump shared this information via his platform, Truth Social.
Netanyahu took to social media platform X to express, “I spoke with President Donald Trump and personally congratulated him on his courageous decision and the well-executed American mission to rescue the targeted pilot from enemy territory.”
The Israeli Prime Minister highlighted that Israel supported the U.S. mission. He noted that President Trump appreciated Israel’s assistance in this operation.
“I am very proud that our cooperation on and off the battlefield is unprecedented, and Israel was able to help rescue a brave American warrior,” he stated.
On the other hand, Iran has questioned the validity of the U.S. claims regarding the success of the operation. The Iranian embassy in Finland stated, “A question you will not answer: Was it a brave rescue or an attempt to cover up a failure? Let’s assume your claims are true and you executed another rescue without any losses. As they say, sometimes you have to believe in the impossible. But the issue is that what you are calling the most daring search and rescue operation in American history, executed by the world’s most professional and dangerous military, was ultimately limited to saving just one crew member.”
The Iranian embassy further remarked that the time and effort invested in this single rescue operation were not even comparable to those campaigns you have previously touted as quick successes that could change governments. The truth is that this is not an occasion to be proud of. People are already feeling embarrassed about the work done by this military.
