RSS National Coordination Meeting to Address Demographic Changes and Drug Rehabilitation

Visakhapatnam, August 18: The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) will hold its All India Coordination Meeting from August 19 to 21 at the Vidya Vihar School in Gudilova, near Visakhapatnam. During a press briefing on Tuesday, Sunil Ambekar, the All India Publicity Chief of the RSS, stated that this significant meeting will focus on various topics, including the current social conditions in the country, demographic changes, drug rehabilitation, Panch Parivartan, and the Indian development model.

Ambekar noted that the annual meeting will see participation from key officials of 32 organizations working under the inspiration of the RSS. Attendees will include RSS Chief Dr. Mohan Bhagwat, General Secretary Dattatreya Hosabale, all Deputy General Secretaries, and other senior officials of the organization.

Representatives from various organizations, including the Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh, Vishva Hindu Parishad, Bharatiya Janata Party, Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad, and Bharatiya Kisan Sangh, will also participate. A total of 327 representatives, including 49 women, are expected to attend.

Ambekar clarified that this is not a decision-making executive meeting. Instead, its purpose is to facilitate the exchange of experiences among organizations working in various sectors of society and to strengthen mutual coordination. Discussions will also cover contemporary national and social issues.

The meeting will address the current state of the country, social changes, and challenges. Special attention will be given to population imbalance, demographic changes, and the concerns arising from them, along with potential solutions. Additionally, strategies to protect youth from drug addiction and enhance drug rehabilitation campaigns will be discussed.

The themes of ‘Panch Parivartan,’ established during the centenary year of the RSS, will also be central to the agenda. These include social harmony, environmentally friendly lifestyles, family awareness, a sense of ‘self,’ and the fulfillment of civic duties. The meeting will explore the roles of various organizations in promoting these themes and discuss future action plans.

Ambekar emphasized that development is not limited to economic progress; it encompasses social, cultural, and human dimensions as well. The meeting will engage in comprehensive discussions on a holistic ‘Indian development model’ to help various organizations prepare future strategies.

He also mentioned a notable increase in the attraction towards the RSS among the public during its centenary year. From January to July 2025, 55,423 individuals registered through the ‘Join RSS’ initiative on the organization’s website. In the same period in 2026, this number surged to 123,287. In July 2025, 9,718 people registered, while in July 2026, the figure rose to 24,086. Approximately 65% of registrants are under 30 years old, and 85% are under 40.

The press briefing was also attended by Dusi Ramakrishna, Co-Organizing Secretary of the South Central Region, and Pradeep Joshi, All India Co-Publicity Chief.
