China Sends Emergency Relief Supplies to Colombia Following Earthquake

Beijing, August 18: The Chinese government has dispatched emergency humanitarian relief supplies to Colombia. The shipment left Capital International Airport in Beijing early Tuesday morning.

The relief cargo includes generators, water purification vehicles, disinfection machines, solar lighting equipment, tents, and blankets. A chartered plane is en route to Bogotá, Colombia’s capital, and is expected to arrive there by local noon on Tuesday.

It is important to note that a devastating earthquake struck Colombia on August 10, resulting in significant loss of life and extensive damage to property. In response, the Chinese government has closely monitored the disaster situation and decided to provide immediate cash assistance along with humanitarian earthquake relief supplies to Colombia.

The aim is to deliver aid to those affected and support reconstruction efforts in the aftermath of the disaster.
