Hyderabad, August 18: An Indigo flight (Flight 208) traveling from Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in Shamshabad, Hyderabad, to Visakhapatnam has received a bomb threat, prompting security agencies to take immediate action. Authorities received a threatening email, which led to a comprehensive search of the aircraft.
Following the bomb threat email, the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) and other security agencies sprang into action. Security officials are conducting a thorough inspection of the plane, meticulously examining every aspect.
In response to the threat, security measures at the airport have been heightened. All passengers and related aspects of the flight are currently under scrutiny.
Meanwhile, intelligence agencies have initiated an investigation to trace the source of the threatening email. Officials are working to identify the individual or group behind the email and to verify the authenticity of the threat.
As of now, the investigation by security agencies is ongoing, and no suspicious items have been confirmed. The situation is being monitored closely while adhering to all security protocols.
Previously, the Chief Minister‘s Office (CMO) in Rajasthan received a bomb threat on Tuesday. The threat was made via a phone call to the Jaipur police control room, leading police and administrative officials to tighten security measures.
Upon receiving the information, DCP (South) Rajarshi Raj arrived at the scene to assess the situation. The police promptly began an investigation to identify the caller and uncover the motive behind the threat. However, no suspicious items have been recovered.
Recently, various institutions, schools, airports, and flights across the country have received bomb threats through emails and calls. Most of these threats have been proven to be hoaxes. Nevertheless, police and administration ensure compliance with standard operating procedures (SOPs) as a precautionary measure.
