
Beijing, August 18: Chinese Premier Li Qiang chaired the 12th plenary session of the State Council on August 17. The meeting focused on studying and implementing the key points from General Secretary Xi Jinping’s recent speech regarding the current economic situation and initiatives. The aim is to make solid progress across all aspects of work, achieve annual economic and social development goals, and ensure a strong start to the 15th Five-Year Plan.
Li Qiang noted that through joint efforts, China’s economy is operating smoothly and steadily this year. It is showing new momentum and an optimized structural development trend, demonstrating strong resilience and vitality. This year marks the first year of implementing the 15th Five-Year Plan. It is essential to promote the plan’s execution from the outset, ensure the construction of major projects, and fully leverage the guiding and motivational role of the plan across various sectors.
He also emphasized that under new circumstances, there is a greater demand for governments at all levels to fulfill their responsibilities effectively and efficiently in economic and social development.
Members of the State Council and heads of relevant departments and units attended the meeting.
