Noida, August 18: In a bid to enhance aviation safety at Noida International Airport, the district administration has issued crucial directives regarding the use of artificial lighting and laser beams in the vicinity of the airport.
The District Magistrate announced that any form of artificial lighting that could potentially affect aircraft operations and pilot safety is prohibited within a 27-kilometer radius of the airport.
According to the district administration, these restrictions are in line with the Indian Aircraft Act, 2024, and the Aircraft Rules, 1937, specifically Rule 66(1) under notification number GSR 733(E) issued on October 10, 2023. These provisions necessitate the enforcement of essential restrictions around Noida International Airport.
The administration clarified that the use of laser beams, shows, displays, or any artificial lighting directed towards the sky that could pose a risk or distraction to pilots is strictly forbidden. Intense laser light can divert a pilot’s attention during flight and may impair their vision, potentially jeopardizing the safe operation of the aircraft.
The District Magistrate urged the public to refrain from using any laser beams, light shows, or artificial lighting that could threaten aviation safety within the designated 27-kilometer restricted area. Event organizers are particularly reminded to adhere to these regulations during programs, ceremonies, and other gatherings.
Furthermore, the administration made it clear that unauthorized use of lasers in the Noida International Airport area will be considered a violation of aviation safety regulations. Legal actions, including fines, may be imposed on individuals or organizations found in breach of these rules.
The district administration emphasized the importance of adhering to aviation safety standards to ensure the secure operation of Noida International Airport. Local citizens, event organizers, institutions, and businesses are urged to comply with the established restrictions and avoid any activities that could compromise the safety of flights and passengers. Compliance with these regulations will be monitored, and violations will be dealt with according to the law.
