RP Singh Criticises Hamid Ansari, Says Congress Responsible for Partition

New Delhi: BJP leader RP Singh responded sharply to former Vice President Hamid Ansari’s recent comments, stating that this is not the first time Ansari has made such remarks. Singh said that if Ansari is making these claims, he should also acknowledge that the Congress party made a mistake by allowing the partition of the country, which led to the creation of Pakistan as a separate entity.

In an interview, RP Singh accused Hamid Ansari of consistently expressing views aligned with a particular ideology. He suggested that Ansari appears to be presenting a specific interpretation of Islam, implying that historical events like Mahmud of Ghazni’s invasions, the plundering of India seventeen times, and attacks on the Somnath temple were not factual. Singh said these statements distort historical facts and insisted that if Ansari wants to make a point, he should admit the Congress party’s error in dividing India and Pakistan.

Commenting on Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma’s remarks, RP Singh said that once the SIT report is released, the truth will come to light. He indicated that Gaurav Gogoi seems to be unable to respond adequately, as otherwise, he would have filed a defamation case against Sarma by now.

Regarding Hamid Ansari’s statements, Vishwa Hindu Parishad leader Sadhvi Prachi said that Ansari considered himself an Indian while holding the office of Vice President but started making such comments only after leaving the position. She challenged Ansari to clarify whether Mahmud of Ghazni was a plunderer or not. Prachi accused Congress of presenting history with a distorted mindset and remarked that under the BJP government, the truth about history is coming out. She questioned why Ansari feels uneasy, suggesting it is because he will never come to power again.
