Rising Fuel Prices Spark Mixed Reactions Among Consumers

New Delhi, May 15: Fuel prices have seen a significant increase across the country as new rates for petrol and diesel were announced on Friday. This change has led to growing concerns among consumers. Many have expressed their frustrations, stating that the price hike was anticipated.

Consumers purchasing petrol and diesel noted, “Everyone knew this was coming. Now, what can we do? The prices have gone up, and it has become a hassle for us.”

In response to the price increase, one consumer remarked, “We expected the prices to rise; it was common knowledge. While it has caused some inconvenience, we are relieved that the increase is only three rupees. Under Prime Minister Modi’s government, at least one thing is clear: fuel prices are rising globally. Here, the increase is just three rupees, so we are somewhat satisfied.”

Another consumer added, “There is a significant crisis worldwide, especially concerning petroleum. The Middle East is our main source for diesel, petrol, CNG, and other fuels. Therefore, during this global crisis, if prices have risen by three rupees, we should support rather than oppose it, as we can see the current situation.”

One customer stated, “What can we do about it? These products come from other countries; they are not produced here. Thus, whatever steps the government is taking are in the country’s interest. In this scenario, what can we do? If everything is imported, it will be expensive there too, leading to higher prices here.”

Another customer mentioned, “This will certainly impact our expenses, and inflation is already high. The increase is not as much as we feared, but it will still make a difference. The government has managed to keep it somewhat under control, but the effects will still be felt.”

A different consumer pointed out, “With diesel prices rising by three rupees, the cost of everything will increase due to higher transportation expenses. There is a war ongoing, and now we are feeling its impact.”
