Tibet Allocates 1.13 Billion Yuan for Services Development for the Disabled

Beijing, August 20: The China Disabled Persons Federation (CDPF) held a meeting on August 19 in Lhasa regarding support efforts in Tibet.

The meeting revealed that since the start of the 14th Five-Year Plan, Tibet has allocated a total of 1.13 billion yuan for the development of services for disabled individuals. This includes receiving 45.8283 million yuan in assistance and implementing 27 major support projects, leading to a significant improvement in services for the disabled in Tibet.

During the 14th Five-Year Plan, the CDPF issued implementation guidelines to support projects such as rehabilitation assistance for disabled children aged 0-6, basic rehabilitation for disabled individuals, and barrier-free renovations for families with severely disabled members in challenging circumstances.

The central government‘s budget has also supported the construction of the second phase of the Tibet Autonomous Region Disabled Persons Care Center and the Tibet Autonomous Region Blind Massage Hospital, along with the establishment of 18 new county-level comprehensive service centers for disabled individuals.
