Relieve Neck and Shoulder Tension with These 4 Yoga Movements

New Delhi, June 2: The Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India, recommends incorporating yoga into daily routines. According to the ministry, in today’s fast-paced life, our minds process more information than we can handle, leading to stress, muscle stiffness, and fatigue.

To prevent stress from accumulating in the neck, shoulders, and back, the ministry advises taking a few moments to breathe deeply and reset oneself. It recommends adopting light yoga movements that effectively reduce physical tension, enhance mobility, and bring focus to the present moment.

The easy movements suggested by the Ministry of AYUSH include trunk twisting, knee movement, shoulder movement, and neck movement. These exercises can be performed anywhere without any equipment. They not only alleviate physical fatigue but also promote mental calmness. Incorporating these simple movements into your daily routine can boost energy, reduce stress, and improve overall health.

Trunk Twisting: This movement involves rotating the waist from side to side, helping to relieve stiffness in the back and lower back. It increases spinal flexibility and improves digestion.

Knee Movement: Gently rotating or moving the knees up and down reduces stiffness in the legs and knees. This is particularly beneficial for those who sit for long periods.

Shoulder Movement: This exercise involves moving the shoulders forward and backward, which instantly reduces tension in the shoulders and upper neck.

Neck Movement: Slowly moving the neck from side to side and up and down helps relieve neck pain caused by prolonged screen time.

Incorporate these easy movements into your daily life for better health and well-being.
