New Delhi, April 7: Netflix is set to launch its first sports thriller series, ‘Glory.’ The series stars Divyendu, Pulkit Samrat, and Suvinder Vicky, and the makers have revealed its release date.
Directed by Karan Anshuman, ‘Glory’ presents a gripping tale of revenge, ambition, and freedom, set against the brutal backdrop of boxing. The series will premiere on May 1.
The story unfolds in Haryana and begins with the mysterious death of an emerging Olympic boxer, Nihal Singh. As the narrative progresses, ambition transforms into anger, and the desire for revenge takes center stage.
According to the creators, ‘Glory’ offers an exciting journey that explores relationships, power, deception, and family entanglements. The series features a strong ensemble cast.
Divyendu, who plays the character Devendra Singh, shared his thoughts on his role, stating, “What attracts me most about this series is the real world of boxing. Here, fame is not achieved through pride but through anger and personal emotions. My character is tough, impulsive, and not one to hide his feelings. He carries a lot of pain but also has restraint. Working with Karan Anshuman for the second time has been a special experience.”
Pulkit Samrat portrays Ravi, commenting, “Ravi appears calm on the outside, but he is fiery within. Greatness means stepping into the ring repeatedly, regardless of pain or challenges.”
Suvinder Vicky plays Coach Raghubir Singh, explaining, “Raghubir is not just a coach; he symbolizes discipline and sacrifice. His silence carries a unique power. For him, boxing is not just a sport; it is a passion and a way of life.”
The series also features Jannat Zubair, Ashutosh Rana, Sikandar Kher, Kunal Thakur, Sayani Gupta, Yashpal Sharma, and Kashmira Pardeshi. ‘Glory’ is created by Karan Anshuman and Karmanya Ahuja, with direction by Karan Anshuman and Kanishk Verma. The series is produced under the banner of Atomic Films by Mohit Shah and Anshuman.
