Sagar, September 2: Blind folk singer Sunil Lodhi from Bundelkhand is currently making waves across the nation with his remarkable voice. His devotional song featured in the film ‘Hanuman Ansh’ has garnered immense love from audiences.
While speaking to reporters in Sagar, Sunil expressed his gratitude towards his fans. He stated, “I warmly welcome all my supporters. I must say that they have greatly supported me and helped me progress. My parents and other relatives are present, and I seek their blessings. My mentor, Ankit Pandey, is with me, who has a plan to take my music career further.”
Becoming emotional, Sunil shared that he has experienced this film not through his own eyes but through the eyes of his parents, who narrated every scene to him.
Once singing bhajans in rural areas with a tambura, Sunil’s journey has now reached Bollywood. The bhajan ‘More Sankat Ke Katya,’ released quietly, went viral on social media, prompting people to search for its singer. They discovered that it was sung by Bundelkhand’s own Sunil Lodhi.
The bhajan has introduced Sunil’s voice to many who were previously unaware of him. His talent even reached music producer Pankaj, who was deeply impressed by Sunil’s heartfelt recording, leading to an opportunity in the film.
Released without much fanfare, ‘Hanuman Ansh’ has emerged as a surprising hit at the box office. The film earned approximately 1 million rupees on its opening day, with a total collection of 1.48 crore rupees in its first two weeks. However, positive word-of-mouth in the third week transformed the film’s fortunes.
In its third week, the film grossed 10.40 crore rupees. Following that, it earned 6.25 crore on the 22nd day, 9.25 crore on the 23rd day, and 12.75 crore on the 24th day. On the 25th day, the film netted 5.15 crore rupees. To date, its net earnings in India have reached 45.28 crore rupees, with a gross collection of 53.43 crore rupees.
