New Delhi – In a major development for ration card holders, the government has set June 30 as the final deadline for completing e-KYC (electronic Know Your Customer). Beneficiaries who fail to complete the process by this date will no longer be eligible to receive subsidized or free food grains, officials have confirmed.
The directive has been issued in Maholi tehsil, but similar compliance is expected across multiple regions as the Centre tightens norms to weed out ineligible beneficiaries and ensure fair distribution under the Public Distribution System (PDS).
Thousands Yet to Complete e-KYC
According to official data:
In urban areas, out of 13,482 ration card holders, e-KYC of 11,812 has been completed, leaving 1,670 pending.
In rural areas, out of 3.33 lakh beneficiaries, 2.76 lakh have completed their e-KYC, while 56,153 are yet to do so.
Officials say these pending cases must be resolved before June 30, failing which ration distribution will be suspended for those individuals.
Purpose: Eliminate Ineligible or Duplicate Cards
The e-KYC drive aims to identify and remove ineligible, duplicate, or deceased beneficiaries from the ration list. This ensures that only genuine and eligible families continue to receive benefits under the government’s food security scheme.
The responsibility of completing e-KYC has been assigned to authorized ration dealers, with monitoring being handled by the Supply Inspector under the supervision of the Sub-District Magistrate (SDM).
Antyodaya Card Holders to Get Extra Benefits
The government has announced that all Antyodaya card holders will be eligible to receive 3 kg of sugar per card at a subsidized rate of ₹18 per kg. The distribution includes:
6,605 cardholders in Maholi block
4,905 in Pisawan block
2,152 in Elia block
How to Complete e-KYC from Home
Beneficiaries can complete e-KYC from their smartphones using the Mera KYC App and Aadhaar Face RD App. Here’s the step-by-step process:
Download and install both Mera KYC App and Aadhaar Face RD App from the Play Store.
Open the Mera KYC app, select your state and location.
Enter your Aadhaar number and the OTP received on your registered mobile.
Your details will be displayed on the screen.
Select the Face eKYC option and scan your face using your phone’s selfie camera.
Once scanned, your e-KYC will be completed successfully.
Final Deadline – June 30
The government has extended the e-KYC deadline multiple times in the past, but officials now confirm that June 30 is the final cut-off. Those who fail to complete the process by then risk immediate suspension of ration supply, including subsidized rice, wheat, and other essentials.
All ration card holders are strongly advised to complete their e-KYC without delay to avoid disruption of services.
