New Delhi, September 22 (Daily Kiran) : A tragic accident occurred on September 22 in New Delhi when a DTC bus collided with a TVS scooter on Najafgarh-Nangloi Road, resulting in the death of a 19-year-old man. The incident took place near Rathi Hospital around 4:15 PM.
According to police, the DTC bus, operating on route number 940, crashed into the scooter, leaving the young man unconscious at the scene. He suffered severe head injuries and was bleeding profusely. Emergency responders rushed him to Sanjay Gandhi Hospital in Mangolpuri, where he was pronounced dead.
The deceased has been identified as Himanshu, a resident of Bahadurgarh, Haryana. His father, Dharmendra, confirmed his identity at the hospital.
Another individual, 24-year-old Monu Kumar, was also injured in the accident and is currently hospitalized at Rathi Hospital. His medical-legal case report indicates that he sustained injuries while riding the scooter during the collision. However, he has been deemed mentally unfit to provide a statement.
The bus driver, Amit Dahiya, aged 33, was present at the accident site and was taken to the police station for questioning. He was later arrested in connection with the incident. A police crime team has examined the scene and collected relevant evidence for the investigation.
Charges against the driver have been filed under sections 281, 125(A), and 106 of the Indian Penal Code. The body of Himanshu has been sent to the hospital’s mortuary for a post-mortem examination. Authorities are continuing their investigation to determine the exact cause of this fatal accident.
