Ramgopal Yadav criticises Centre's budget as favouring only a few

Lucknow, February 2: Samajwadi Party Rajya Sabha MP Ramgopal Yadav sharply criticised the Centre’s budget and policies, saying the budget is not meant for the common people but only for a select few.

He sarcastically remarked that while there is much talk about a developed India, no one has bothered to visit the villages to see the ground reality. Referring to the Jal Jeevan Mission, he said that although the President mentioned this scheme in his speech, the truth is that all the money has been eaten up and those sitting in Delhi are turning a blind eye.

Ramgopal Yadav clearly stated that in his view, the budget has never been for the common man. Instead, it is made to benefit certain chosen individuals. The country’s policies, he said, are crafted not for the poor, farmers, and general public but with specific interests in mind.

Meanwhile, Samajwadi Party spokesperson Ashutosh Verma also targeted the BJP. He accused the party of working only to push its own agenda. Giving the example of the bullet train, he noted that nearly ten years have passed but the train has not yet started running. He added that common people had hoped for new IITs and IIMs to open, which would increase education and job opportunities, but the government’s focus now seems limited to those making reels.

Ashutosh Verma questioned the direction in which the government wants to take society. He alleged that through this budget, the BJP has allocated more funds to its election states. He pointed out that thousands of crores were given to the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, and it is no secret which channels, media houses, and YouTubers will benefit from it.

Verma further said that the BJP does not care about the country’s 140 crore people, especially the middle class and poor, whose conditions are steadily worsening. The government refuses to address these issues and is clearly working only for large industrialists, which is evident in the budget as well.
